In this episode, Kevin welcomes Hector Navarro again to take a closer look at the Warfighter Acquisition System (WAS) and what it means for today’s Contracting Officer. We build on our last discussion and focus on two key parts of the FAR—Parts 15 and 16. These areas shape how the government works with industry, runs competitions, and structures contracts. They are also where Contracting Officers can have the biggest impact on mission results in a fast-changing environment.
Technology and threats are moving quickly, and acquisition must keep up. The WAS aims to speed things up while still working within the FAR. In this episode, we show how Contracting Officers can use the tools they already have to make better, faster decisions. We highlight the “thinking part of the job” early communication, sound judgment, and clear contract structure; so you can see where better outcomes are created and how you can be part of them.
